Job Description

Oracle University (OU) delivers world-class technical training across the entire Oracle product portfolio through instructor-led, digital, and self-paced learning formats. The CSS OU DevOps organization is at the forefront of this mission, employing a DevOps methodology to provide 24x7 global support and continuous development for our critical technical lab environments and infrastructure, spanning both on-premises and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) platforms.

As a vital member of the CSS OU DevOps Team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless delivery of technical training by:

Providing expert technical support to Oracle University customers, partners, instructors, and individual learners, swiftly resolving issues encountered during training sessions.
Proactively monitoring and resolving infrastructure incidents through rigorous Quality Assurance (QA) processes to maintain optimal performance and availability.
Developing and deploying cutting-edge lab environments leveraging the latest Oracle Cloud technologies.
Driving new project initiatives as a key contributor within virtual, cross-functional teams.
Participating in a rotating or fixed shift schedule to ensure continuous 24x7 global support coverage.
Actively engaging in scheduled team and technical meetings to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Required Technical Knowledge and Skills:

We are looking for a candidate with a strong foundation in:

Operating Systems: Proficient in Linux OS, including installation, configuration, and advanced troubleshooting. General Windows troubleshooting skills, with an understanding of Event Viewer logs.
Networking: Solid knowledge and understanding of fundamental networking principles.
Database Concepts: Familiarity with Oracle database concepts.
Virtualization & Containerization:
- Strong understanding of virtualization technologies.
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with containerization (e.g., Docker) and container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) for deploying and managing scalable applications.
Automation: Practical experience with automation tools such as Ansible, GitLab, and Jenkins.
Cloud & AI: Good working knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and understanding of Artificial Intelligence concepts.
Observability & Application Management: Experience with monitoring and visualization platforms (e.g., Grafana), distributed tracing tools (e.g., Jaeger), service mesh dashboards (e.g., Kiali), and Kubernetes-native DevOps platforms (e.g., Devtron)."
Scripting: Experience in one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Unix Shell).
Problem-Solving: Advanced troubleshooting skills coupled with a passion for problem-solving and investigation.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related equivalent field.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Demonstrated personal commitment to quality and excellence in customer service.
2 to 5+ years of experience working as a Technical Support Engineer or DevOps Engineer, Development Engineer in a relevant field.
Knowledge and understanding of Agile methodologies.
