How will you make an impact in this role?

Join the Cyber Engineering team at American Express as a Full Stack Developer in the Technology Risk and Information Security organization. As a key member of this team, you will have the opportunity to design and develop cutting-edge product capabilities utilizing emerging technologies, including Generative AI, to stay ahead of the evolving cyber threat landscape and protect American Express's digital assets.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Collaborate with the team to analyze user stories, develop responsive web applications, and deliver high-quality software products.
Design, develop, and deploy full stack applications using modern frameworks and best practices with a strong emphasis on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Design and integrate Generative AI services and APIs into new and existing products to deliver innovative experiences.
Develop reusable components and libraries, write clean, testable, and efficient code, and actively participate in peer code reviews.
Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using modern testing frameworks.
Drive a culture of experimentation, continuous learning, and innovation.
Continuously refactor and optimize code for performance, maintainability, and testability, guided by real-time feedback from tools like Copilot.
Work closely with product managers, back-end developers, and other front-end developers to deliver versatile solutions to complex web development challenges.
Manage your own time effectively, prioritize tasks, and work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
Stay up-to-date with emerging standards and best practices and promote standard methodologies and consistent framework usage.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates or BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field (or equivalent 5+ years of work experience)
5+ years of hands-on experience in Full Stack development with expertise in building scalable web products using Node.js.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks such as Express, Next.js. Knowledge of Java and Python is a plus.
Experience with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js, along with proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, Tailwind CSS and Material UI.
Familiarity with Generative AI tools, libraries, or APIs (e.g., OpenAI, LangChain, LangGraph, AgenticAI, MCP Servers etc) and integrating them into real-world applications.
Proficiency in using GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding assistants for enhanced productivity and code quality.
Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest or Cypress
Competence in using version control tools like Git with collaborative workflows (pull requests, code reviews, branching strategies).
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes; understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge browser extension development is a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment, adapt quickly to change, and handle multiple priorities.
Strong problem-solving skills, communication abilities, and a passion for innovation and teamwork.
