Job Description

Quality Assurance Technicians (QATs) at Amazon test cutting-edge applications and products at the user level, both manually and with automated tools. QATs at Amazon are excellent individual contributors capable of understanding and driving test execution with minimal help. QATs would be responsible for understanding the features, components, and detailed functional requirements well enough, coming up with the test cases with some guidance, test execution, and reporting with a high bar on quality. QATs are technically savvy in the use of software, computers, and devices, run automated scripts, analyze failures, support automation, can install and configure software, and can use debug settings. They have the technical ability to gather logs, traces, etc. to add to bug reports when provided with instructions. QATs assist developers or other testers and maintain a high-quality test environment, recommending improvements to SOPs, tools, and metrics. They are highly accurate in performing test assignments and reporting the behavior, ensuring that there is no ambiguity while reproducing issues.

Key job responsibilities
Write test cases, that are high quality, high value, and maintainable
Execute test cases prepared for testing software builds on 3P products and report bugs accurately.
Test Aptitude: You show a strong ability to find bugs worth fixing. You are a good Ad-hoc tester. Also deep dive into the logs to identify errors and provide the failure analysis back to developers.
Perform Regression, Build Acceptance Testing, Bug Bashes/Adhoc Testing and repetitive testing exercises to qualify builds without compromising on quality and have experience on QA Process and methodology.
Exhibit domain expertise across multiple components or features of a product. You have knowledge of the features and detailed functional requirements of the work well enough to execute your assigned tests, and find gaps in the test plan/test coverage.
Familiarity with Agile methodology. Working knowledge on defect tracking tools, test management software and SQL.
Ability to install/configure software builds, run automation script, fluency in log retrieval through provided tools and command line prompt.
Excellent communication both verbally and in writing, strong organizational skills and very detailed-oriented with your team and with other groups.
Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative, dynamic work environment. - Full time Graduate in Technology, Computer Applications, Computer Science.
- 1+ years of experience in software testing or quality assurance.
- Familiarity using computer and software/experience in usage of any gadgets or devices.
- Ability to understand basics of software testing. You have knowledge of the various forms of testing methodologies (e.g., functional, unit, integration, system, performance, etc.).
- Comfortable communicating on emails and across multiple-management levels.
- Solid organizational skills and team player.
- Attention to details and ability to root cause important issues impacting process or customers.
