We are looking for experienced and motivated customer facing leaders to coach, grow, and partner with technically skilled, customer-facing Solutions Architects in the Developer Specialist team. You will help develop the industry’s best cloud-based solutions architects by enabling and coaching them on best practices, solution selling, presentation and speaking skills, as well as how to create and present architectures of widely varying size and complexity. In collaboration with sales, you will drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers.
In this role, you will need to be technically capable and credible in your own right as well as effective in shaping the customer and solutions-focused skills of your team. You must enjoy learning and introducing new technology in order to help colleagues and customers embrace and adopt new technology. Furthermore, thought leadership in terms of looking beyond the technology and considering the value technology creates for our customers, and helping to change how technology is viewed are important aspects of the role. You will help team members ramp-up on AWS as well as develop speaking, writing, presentation, and executive interaction skills. You will also need to be adept at interacting, communicating and partnering with other departments within AWS such as our services teams, marketing, and professional services, as well as representing your team to executive management.

Key job responsibilities
We are seeking an accomplished leader to build out and lead a high performing Developer Specialist Solution Architecture team aligned to India. As a self-starter willing to operate in a multifaceted way, you should also have experience in complex architecture of cloud infrastructure and/or enterprise applications. The right candidate must possess top of the line leadership skills with the ability to execute on key business initiatives.
• As a key member of the business development and account management teams, ensure success in customer development of software and services onto the AWS platform
• In partnership with the account management team, formulate and execute a customer-focused strategy to drive adoption of AWS
• Hire, on-board, train, and develop new Solutions Architects
• Coach Solutions Architects in the skills needed to conduct one-to-few and one-to-many technical sessions so they can transfer deep technical skills to customers who are considering or using AWS
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community
• Guide and motivate the development of whitepapers, data sheets, and other high-value customer facing guidance and best practices
• Act as a conduit and liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support
About the team
The Developer Specialist SA team
engages with key development stakeholders in recognized customers, and create awareness by highlighting developer-focused successes in these key ‘lighthouse’ accounts, using them as reference cases to help influence other customers by creating artefacts and working developer-focused demos/prototypes that can be shared with customers and the broader SA team to demonstrate how to use multiple AWS services to create end-to-end solutions. They also identify areas of improvement in the existing AWS service offering, SDKs and tooling that would help developer adoption if addressed. Escalate these ideas for enhancement to the AWS service owners

- * 2+ years of experience leading a development team in a professional production environment
- * 8+ years of IT industry experience with exposure to end-to-end outcomes of IT projects and initiatives
- * Training/learning development or people/organisational transformation experience
- * Experience developing and supporting training/enablement for both technical and non-technical content
- * Customer facing experience such as consultant, solutions architect/pre-sales, customer relationship manager or similar.
- * Cross-functional team experience/exposure
- * Excellent communication skills and editing for the purpose of knowledge transfer and skill development; this includes skill in collaborating with subject matter experts and managers to help write and develop both technical and non-technical content.
- * Ability to work with staff at all levels of the organization.
- * A self-starter who possesses intellectual curiosity; proven team player at ease with rolled up sleeves; ability to successfully operate with limited guidance.
- * Ability to use multiple learning methods and link appropriate methods with subject matter.
