A day in the life
As an experienced Advanced Analytics Engineer, you will play a key role as an internal consultant developing analyses related to the AWS Support businesses. You will need to interface with a diverse set of stakeholders and will work closely with Business Intelligence teams, Program managers, Business teams, Data engineering, Financial analysts, Operations Managers, Data Scientists and Product teams to analyze massive data sets, identify areas to improve, define metrics to measure and monitor programs, and most importantly work with different stakeholders to drive improvements over time. To be successful, you should demonstrate the ability to balance analytical and technical skills while clearly driving communication and collaboration with key partners. You will also work closely with internal leadership teams to extract or mine information from our existing systems to create new analysis, and expose data from our group to wider teams in intuitive ways. As a member of the team, you will also have the opportunity to leverage your passion for data science to create high impact solutions.

- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
