Your Role and Responsibilities As an zOS DB2 Engineer, you would be responsible for
This Candidate is responsible for defining and maintaining the structure of the solution and ensuring that it will meet the requirements
Create high-level designs, detail level designs, maintaining product roadmaps which includes both modernization and leveraging cloud solutions, product technical debt, and mentorship.
Plan, develop, install, configure, maintain, support, and optimize all network software and communication links.
Analyze and resolve software program and connectivity issues.
Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software.
Assist in system design, development and implementation.
Responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems.
Will ensure the uptime, performance, resources, and security of the computers they manage meet the needs of the users.
Help the team to work together in an agile fashion, to jointly own the solution, and to interface well with other parts of the organization
Manage the day-to-day operations by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance. and repair.
Ensure that records of system downtime and equipment inventory are properly maintained.
Diagnose and recommend fixes to problems or potential problems with the network and its hardware, software, and systems.
Ensure the stable operation of the computer software systems and network connections.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
The ZOS Solution Architect would need to have at least 10+ years of IT experience.
10+ years of infrastructure system administration experience in a large z/OS Db2 enterprise environment
Experience on version upgrades for ZOS.
Experience on migration from ZOS on to LUW preferred.
Experience with Classic CDC and Infosphere CDC on DB2 ZOS and IMS is required
Experience with Migration from DB2 LUW to Mainframes and Vice Versa is must.
Experience on IMS is required
Day to day experience in building and supporting z/OS systems.
Demonstrated strength in troubleshooting complex technical issues.
Skills to deal with audit requirements, providing artifacts from the z/OS environment.
Experience working in an Agile environment.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Experience on DB2 ZOS Modernization is preferred.
Linux, AIX, Windows server administration experience preferred.
IBM z/OS Mainframe Practitioner Professional Certificate preferred.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communications skills
Demonstrates strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
