Introduction The primary focus for a consultant in this role would be the Design, Develop and deploy solutions based on IBM’s Maximo Application Suite Portfolio. The role requires good knowledge and expertise on IBM’s Maximo Application suite. Role also requires aptitude for learning, application of learning, innovation, strong analytical, coding and debugging skills.
Your Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced IBM InfoSphere Data Replication Specialist to design, develop, and maintain real-time data replication solutions. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the seamless flow of data across multiple environments, maintaining data integrity, and optimizing data transfer processes using IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (IIDR) technologies.
Install, configure, and manage IBM InfoSphere Data Replication tools, including CDC (Change Data Capture) and Q Replication, across various data environments (databases, data warehouses, etc.).
Design and implement real-time data replication between heterogeneous data sources like DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and other cloud or on-premise databases.
Monitor and troubleshoot replication jobs to ensure high availability, data consistency, and real-time data transfer with minimal downtime.
Optimize replication processes to improve data transfer speeds, resource utilization, and failover mechanisms.
Develop and maintain scripts and automation solutions to streamline data replication tasks and system monitoring.
Collaborate with data architects and DBAs to define data replication requirements, understand business use cases, and tailor solutions to meet them.
Ensure data integrity and security throughout the replication process by implementing best practices, including encryption, compression, and error-handling techniques.
Provide ongoing maintenance and upgrades to the replication environment, including applying patches and performing version updates.
Document replication architecture, configurations, and operational procedures for future reference and knowledge sharing.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
7+ years of experience with IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (IIDR) or similar data replication tools.
Strong knowledge of CDC (Change Data Capture) technology and Q Replication.
Expertise in databases such as DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
Proven ability to work with heterogeneous environments (on-premise and cloud-based).
Familiarity with scripting languages like Python, Shell Scripting, or Perl for automation.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Knowledge of performance tuning and optimization techniques for large-scale data replication.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
