Your Role and Responsibilities
Responsible for Cloud geographic footprint expansion planning and execution.
Drive strategic investment process to determine prioritization of IBM cloud’s geographic and functional expansion
Evaluate local market potential, work with the geo leaders to ensure initial assessment and pipeline, validate the customer demand (market input, customer input), evaluate the competitive footprint, and then drive the case for IBM Cloud.
Engage with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders from product management, development, CTO, finance, compliance, and other business units to produce complex investment business cases.
Manage executive reviews and approval process through Cloud PMT / MMT and Corporate HQ reviews
Engage in partnership negotiations as required to land deals in support of strategic geo-expansion plans.
Ongoing field and planning support of existing locations to determine key growth factors to ensure success and return on investment
Develop global strategy, roadmap and offering and implementation plans for global footprint
Communicate with regional sales teams and clients or partners to obtain favorable terms and establish go to market strategy
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Strong understanding of:
Business case and financial models
Market analysis
Geographic and industry dynamics
Cloud market trends and competition
Strategic Partnership models and contract negotiation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. including experience in high-level business discussions and low-level technical discussions.
Strong Program Management and analytical skills
Ability to prioritize according to strategic business goals
Experience working in the Cloud or IT industry
Track record of high-quality, self-directed, timely execution, and attention to detail.
Practical experience in financial Modelling
Experience leading client and partner negotiations. Strong customer facing skills.
Successful candidates will be strong leaders who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of delivery. They will work collaboratively across functional areas and business units, with a strong understanding of business impacts of investment decisions and prioritization trade-offs.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Strong understanding of Product management and pragmatic marketing frameworks
Experience in business development and Data Center expansion
Practical knowledge of GTM strategy
