Your Role and Responsibilities Who you are:
We are z/OS Operating System professionals working on IBM Z. We build a secure operating system for our IBM Z customers to deploy their mission critical applications.
We are looking for a skilled DevOps champion to join our dynamic team who is passionate about streamlining and optimizing the software development lifecycle. As a DevOps Champion, you will be part of the z/OS team working on different products. You will be fully hands-on building and maintain the CI/CD pipelines for consistent and efficient software delivery. You will have a working knowledge of Jenkins and GIT. A strong understanding of development process blended with operational efficiency with exposure to Agile processes is a plus. A seasoned hands-on Engineer who can take care of build management in z/OS space and can comfortably interact with multiple stakeholders especially with the development teams across the globe.
What you’ll do:
This is an opportunity to work on z/OS systems as a DevOps Champion. IBMers in this role can expect to work in creating build repositories, build/code deliverables at a defined frequency and on a need basis.
Function as a hands-on Engineer for the DevOps team.
Write build related documents, code, automate, migrate, etc
Create, sustain and optimize CI/CD pipeline and build environment.
Address daily build issues and issues with new Github branches, compile issues and GIT migration issues.
Work on DBB, automation update for code scanning tool, build new groovy scripts for GIThub migration.
Install external service update on previous releases
Participate in modernization activities like migrating from older to newer technologies.
Prepare status updates and present it to the management during weekly status reviews
Identify opportunities for build admin routine enhancements and define implementation plans
Collaborate with global teams especially the development Engineering for ensuring seamless software delivery.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
5+ years of relevant experience.
Strong experience in the DevOps, CI/CD, GIT, Groovy, configuration managment and version control.
Experience in Agile methodology and adherence to SDLC best practices.
Extensive experience in debugging and troubleshooting issues
Good communication skills as this involves interacting with global stakeholders.
Willingness and ability to learn new concepts especially the z/OS aspects and ramp up in a short span.
Experience in guiding a team of lesser experienced professionals.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Scripting experience with ANT, Python, Java/C++ and OOP concepts, DBB
