Your Role and Responsibilities Reporting to the APAC D&C Leader, the APAC - Design Manager within the Global Workplace Solutions team and functions as a main point of contact for GWS tools including the Statement of Requirements (SOR), design standards and development, execution and consultation for the IBM Workplace Guidelines. Special focus on driving culture, improved diversity and inclusion, LEED/WELL and other sustainability goals, and IoT/AV coordination. Key Responsibilities: Guides, supports and champions feedback collection and analysis of the Workplace Guidelines to enable continuous improvement on the next generation of work spaces. Establishes, builds and drives the vision and strategy for workplace design through guidance on design reviews, cost analysis and supports regional and sub-geo real estate teams with knowledge base on office standards for design and workplace initiatives. Educates and manages external suppliers (e.g. design consultants, furniture and flooring manufacturers, etc) to deliver exceptional projects and products within defined scope and cost. Liaise with Procurement and GRE functions in sourcing and bidding components of our office environment products and construction commodities (e.g. furniture, seating and flooring). Review for approvals as required in Organization Letter 111 projects including the approval of the selection of architects/engineers and design concepts. Assist and collaborate with CHS (Corporate Health and Safety) in life safety reviews for existing or new locations. Who you are: Lead D&C project design across your designated region for all size and scale projects. Key contact point for all internal stakeholders and external service providers for Design guidance and governance. Ensure LEED and WELL compliance in all design projects. Drive IBM Workplace standards: High level or organizational ability with proven communication skills. Manage and promote IBM workplace innovation and technology within IBM locations. Maintain awareness of latest D & C innovations and improvements. Accountable for all project specific change management pertaining to design and scope modifications to the workplace standards and contract. Stakeholder Management: Responsible for local end user stakeholder management and communication from ideation phase through project completion. Voice of the client, facilitating feedback through design direction. Drive year over year improvement of client experience. Lead a team of core engineering and architectural expertise to provide guidance and support to our geography teams and work collaboratively with geo focals to implement global standards to promote the IBM brand while also enabling local cultural influences. Define standards, provide guidance and support to geos in the following areas: Workplace Design Standards including IOT and AV, Workplace Experience, Space Planning tools; Strategic Project Support, Design Consultancy and Validation.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Typically requires a BS/MS degree with relevant Project functional expertise, with a strong preference for advanced degree and/or ongoing coursework. Extensive industry experience spanning more than 15 years will be considered to be equivalent. Diversity in the application of the functional knowledge is also required (i.e. multiple markets, real estate/facility types/environments, complexity, scale and span of control). Any industry certification CoreNet-MCR or other familiar CRE industry affiliations.
