Job Summary:

Meet our team
Global Compliance & Ta Management platform team is looking for a self-motivated Java Engineer to build and maintain the leading state of the art platform that caters to Anti Money Laundering & Tax related regulatory requirements.
We have 8FT Engineers and 2 Product based out of Bangalore location. We collaborate closely with product, engineering, PMO and Architect groups as 4inb accountability to deliver the highly critical tax regulator programs. Tax business stakeholders are based out of USA, and we have close connections with policy team to seamlessly understanding the Tax policies

What You Need to Know About the Role
Global Compliance & Customer Verification Platform builds and maintains the leading state of the art platform that caters to Anti Money Laundering & Tax related regulatory requirements that PayPal has to comply with within most of the 200+ countries that we operate. We work on cutting edge technologies and would need engineer to work on latest and greatest platforms. You would be working on Tax compliance product requirements across the jurisdiction. Platform work includes AI opportunities to bring the customer insights with recommendations to the platform and product.

At PayPal, Backend Software Engineers are the architects of our global payment platform. You'll design, develop, and optimize core systems that power millions of transactions daily, directly impacting our customers' experiences and our company's success.

Your day-to-day

As an Engineer - Backend you'll contribute to building robust backend systems. You'll collaborate closely with experienced engineers to learn and grow your skills.

Develop and maintain backend components.
Write clean, efficient code adhering to coding standards.
Participate in code reviews and provide feedback.

What do you need to Bring

2+ years of backend development experience and a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
Strong foundation in programming concepts and data structures.
Proficiency in at least one backend language (Java, Python, Ruby on Rails)
Proficiency in back-end development utilizing Java EE technologies (Java, application servers, servlet containers, JMS, JPA, Spring MVC, Hibernate)
Strong understanding of web services and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) standards, including REST, OAuth, and JSON, with experience in Java environments.
Experience with ORM (Object-Relational Mapper) tools, working within Java-based solutions like Hibernate.
Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with large-scale, high-performance systems.
Knowledge of the payment processing industry and relevant regulations.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
