The Amazon Payments supports multiple payment products and processes millions of transactions every day across numerous countries and payment methods. Over 100 million customers and merchants send tens of billions of dollars moving at light-speed through our systems annually, and use our products on and off Amazon.

We build systems that provide various payments features and process payments at an unprecedented scale, with accuracy, speed, and mission-critical availability. We innovate to improve customer experience across the globe, with support for currency choice, pay using installments, pay with reward points, in-store payments, pay on delivery, credit and debit payments, seller disbursements, gift cards, and many new exciting and challenging ideas are in the works.

Key job responsibilities
* Lead a team of highly talented Dev Ops & Sys Dev engineers responsible for managing all aspects of mission-critical systems.
* Lead and manage the team that drives organizational standards for operational excellence and resiliency.
* Establish strong relationships with internal partners and peer stakeholders to understand and meet their needs while operating existing systems at a high quality.
* Participate in incident management to resolve outages and communicate with a global audience and participate in calls resolving outage.
* Develop and maintain a culture of innovation and operational efficiency in the team.
* Manage the design and development of new software solutions supporting our internal teams, including code reviews, testing, deployment and post-launch monitoring.
* Hiring, growing and retaining engineering team keeping up with the high Amazon bar. This leader will be responsible for continuing to build an extremely high caliber team.
* A successful candidate will be a hands-on manager with an established background in developing and operating platforms and services, developing and hiring extraordinary talent, have strong technical ability, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a dynamic fast paced environment.· A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or five or more years of work experience in System development as an equivalent.
· 5 or more years of people management experience leading System development teams.
· Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages such as Java, C/C++, C#, Objective C, Python, JavaScript, Ruby, and Go.
· Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems or web services.
· Experience in managing large scale infrastructure and automation.
· Experience engaging and influencing senior executives using both verbal and written communication tools.
