As an SDE-2 on the Music Search team, you will own the design and delivery of systems that power how millions of customers discover music, podcasts, and audio content. Our search ecosystem spans query understanding, ranking, indexing, and retrieval — increasingly enhanced by Generative AI and LLM-driven experiences — built on large-scale distributed infrastructure running on AWS. You will drive technical decisions, write high-quality production code, and raise the bar for engineering excellence across the team. You'll collaborate closely with applied scientists, product managers, and partner teams to deliver search experiences that are fast, relevant, and delightful.

For this role, you bring a strong foundation in object-oriented design with Java or C++, and hands-on experience building and operating distributed systems at scale. Familiarity with search technologies (indexing, ranking, NLP/query understanding, GenAI/LLM integration), web services, and Linux-based development environments is highly valued. Beyond specific technologies, you demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations, decompose complex problems into incremental deliverables, and write reliable, maintainable code that others can build on.

- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
