Job Description

Design, build, and deploy scalable software platforms for teams within YouTube.
Ensure that all technical solutions are designed in a way that enables other teams to easily access data for operational reporting and data visualization.
Collaborate with product engineers to enhance core platforms and create applications using standard and Google-specific software development tools.
Write and review technical documents, including design, development, revision documents and review code in compiled or scripted languages.
Analyze, review, and modify programs to increase operating efficiency or meet new requirements as well as execute testing, debugging, maintenance or program updates.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of experience in either system design or in one programming language (Java, C++, Python, etc.).
3 years of experience in technical troubleshooting, and managing internal/external partners or customers.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with creating system/product designs and leading them to launch.
Experience working with Protocol Buffers.
Experience working with systems for collaborative code reviews, version control, continuous integration and automated testing.
Experience in multiple programming languages including Java, JavaScript, Typescript, etc.
Experience with unit testing, agile project development, and bug and change management systems, and a passion for engineering excellence.
