Institutional Securities Technology

Institutional Securities Technology (IST) develops and oversees the overall technology strategy and bespoke technology solutions to drive and enable the institutional businesses and enterprise-wide functions. IST’s ‘clients’ include Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Investment Banking, Research, Prime Brokerage and Global Capital Markets.

Job Profile

This role is with the Equity Risk Systems group within ESTAR. The Equity Risk Systems (ERS) group is responsible for the Morgan Stanley's proprietary risk and pricing platform (RiskViewer), which is used globally by traders and risk managers in the institutional equities division. RiskViewer aids trading decisions and risk management by near real-time calculation of value and risk measures of firm's trading positions. We support the full range of equity products from vanilla options through to exotics and swaps as well as a variety of non-equity instruments such as FX, rates and credit derivatives.The system is based on a distributed architecture of multi-threaded server-side components and a large compute farm for calculation of risk and pricing data. The platform also provides valuation services to a variety of trading engines, quoting/market making systems and pricing tools used by trading and sales. The software is developed by teams based in New York, Montreal, London, Budapest, Bengaluru and Hong

Role & Responsibilities:
This role provides an exciting opportunity to motivated candidates to work in a fast-paced environment on varied projects from short term tactical enhancements to strategic initiatives that impact multiple firm systems and business groups. Candidates will design and develop using latest technology architectures & API model. Candidates will be involved in all phases of SDLC such as requirements gathering, designing, developing, testing and supporting the application in production. Candidates will also be involved with ongoing technology support for the business users and queries.
Candidate will be in Bengaluru working with a global technology team and business users in Prime Brokerage.

Primary Skills
· 10-20 years of experience in enterprise level Java development · Experience in development using Java 8 and frameworks such as Spring and Apache suite of libraries · Understanding of data structures, caching, design patterns, multi-threaded and high-performance architecture · Excellent problem solving skills & good communication skills · Good knowledge of OO, data structures & algorithms · Good understanding of RDBMS, Basic SQL, Data Analysis · Working experience with Unix operating system




Good To have Skills
· Experience in Sybase/DB2 · Experience in Distributed Caching solutions · Experience in stream processing with Kafka and cloud-based development · Experience in managing a team of atleast 2-3 team members · Background in financial technology · Experience in Custody/Accounting systems

Qualifications
10 - 16 years of Experience.Bachelors Degree,Strong academic background preferably from top-tier institutes.
