Oracle’s Cloud is a new ground-up effort to build Infrastructure and Platform as a Service that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment.Database as a service (DbaaS) is a comprehensive database management platform providing fully managed Oracle cloud database services running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure as well as customers on-premises Exadata infrastructure.We are looking for hands-on software engineers with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in distributed systems, virtualized infrastructure, and highly available services. As an engineer in this team, you will own parts of the software design and development of Oracle’s Database as a Service Platform. In addition, you will participate in the software design and development of infrastructure, tools, automated test SDKs and automation for our CICD pipeline.The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong skills in several of the following areas:• BS/MS in Computer Science or related fields with 7+ years of industry experience.• Strong problem solving and communication skills• Demonstrable computer science fundamentals, and object-oriented design• Demonstrable experience with Java as well as strong experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, shell, etc.• Experience working with Linux and Virtualization technologies such as Xen, Containers, etc• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostics skills• Experience working with Cloud infrastructure APIs, REST API model, and developing REST APIs• Experience working with Databases preferably Oracle• Automation & tool development for monitoring & managing large-scale systems is a plus• Expertise in developing and operating highly scalable & available systems is a plus
