We’re seeking someone to join our team as (Vice President) JAVA/J2EE Application Development Lead for our market leading institutional equity derivatives business. It is powered by a world class technology that manages the processing of Structured Products and OTC's for the exotic derivatives business from front to Back

IST (Institutional Securities Technology)

Institutional Securities Technology (IST) develops and oversees the overall technology strategy and bespoke technology solutions to drive and enable the institutional businesses and enterprise-wide functions. IST’s ‘clients’ include Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Investment Banking, Research, Prime Brokerage and Global Capital Markets.

ESTAR

Develops trading & Analytics platform for IST, structured OTC Trading, Market Making & risk platform
for IED

Software Engineering

This is a Vice President position within our Technical Specialist function, which is responsible for providing extensive subject matter expertise and reinforcing the ability of business and technology audit teams to appropriately assess risk and determine and execute coverage.

What you’ll do in the role:

Morgan Stanley’s market leading institutional equity derivatives business is powered by a world class technology platform from front to back. Our platform manages the processing of Structured Products and OTC’s for the exotic derivatives business. Business is growing 10X over last few years and there has been effort underway to build the data and analytics platofrm for business to be able to gain insight into that data across various F2B responsible for various functional aspect of derivatives trading buiseness in unfied way to drive further initiatives to earn revenue,reducing risk and being more efficient at managing the business.

You will lead the effort to build the data and analytics platform for equity derivatives business which involves colloborating across F2b business stakeholder (sales, traders, strats, etc.) , tech teams ,quants team, financial engineer to understand the business need ,systems and various data being produced by various systems and architecting,designing and building the platform that is able to bring the data from heterogeneous data sources ,transform and co-related them and offer the access to the buisess in the

This would interesting and challenging opportunity and you would lead the growing team distributed across region in India and London.

Roles & Responsibilities:

You will be a proficient Java/python developer, who will be hands on, in a delivery focused role.
experience building the data and analytics platform and working with databases
You will be involved in the design and architecture of the system
You will be mentoring the developers
You will have strong product knowledge of equity derivatives and ideally structured products and OTC's.
You will have strong communications skills to build a strong relationship with business stakeholders including sales, trading and quants.
You will be a proactive member of an agile development team, focusing on efficient application delivery to meet business KPI's.
You will encourage innovation and set technical guardrails for the development team.
You will help develop and lead the technology strategy within the department, as well as ensuring it aligns with the global technology strategy.
Opportunity to work with front end application development in HTML 5, Angular and scripting in python.
You will help implement and ensure the team follows SDLC best practices.

What you’ll bring to the role:

At least 8 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
Experience designing /architecting distributed system and building the data and analytics platform .
Hands on experience working on the Java, databases and middlewares .
Experience with application integration, software design patterns, frameworks, unit testing, automated testing, performance / memory analysis, and n-tier service-oriented architecture.
Experience of Agile development techniques and a deep understanding of systems engineering, build and release management principles including continuous integration and continuous delivery.
Test-Driven Development (TDD) experience.
Experience in sales and trading platforms in Equities / FX / Fixed Income / Derivatives domain would be a plus.
