Division Profile:

The Wealth Management Platforms organization manages digital platforms and experiences across the Advisor, Workplace and Direct channels, ensuring that our capabilities lead the industry and are delivered and integrated seamlessly.

Position Summary:

The Wealth Management Platforms Head of User Acceptance Testing will be responsible for building up and managing a large team (50+) UAT testers and Test Leads across our different Platforms Areas. The team will functionally own and execute UAT for global WM platforms from India. These Platform areas drive the completion of senior leadership’s vision of platforms used by our financial advisors, branch managers, support professionals and clients.

The Head of UAT, India is accountable for testing of a $500M+ portfolio of strategic, tactical, and risk development work. They will serve as an escalation point to both the team and US-based Platforms partners. The Head of UAT India will manage fungibility within the testing team and manage shifts and knowledge transfer based on shifting priorities and be responsible for creating a culture of excellence and growth. A key responsibilities includes establishing consistent practices and definitions across groups for testing & test documentation. The role encompasses Strategy & Planning, Execution & Coordination, Stakeholder communication, Sign-offs & Risk Management. The role reports into Head of WM Platforms, India.

Key Responsibilities:

  • UAT Strategy, Planning & Execution
    • Work with leads in respective silos to establish UAT strategy and success criteria
    • Establish consistent practices and definitions across groups for testing & test documentation.

  • Fleet Planning and Testing Engagement
    • Participate in fleet ceremonies, having a deep understanding of fleet strategy, objectives, and outcomes
    • Serve as an escalation-point to US-based Platforms partners
    • Partner with Technology QA Testing Leadership to ensure effective and efficient Division of Labor between the two organizations, advocate for team needs
    • Identify and drive process improvements, enhancements, and efficiencies
    • Accountable to the team’s successful creation and oversight of UAT test plans, end to end test planning, and production checkout
    • Establish culture of excellence, goal for ZERO production defects

  • Risk Management

Work with leads in each silos to

  • Identify & Assess Risk
  • Take necessary measures to Mitigate Risk
  • Report Risk, escalate as appropriate
  • Monitor & communicate

  • Team & Stakeholder Management
    • Establish & manage a large organization of testers and test leads. Identifying and investing in top talent
    • Accountable for the onboarding and training of new /shifted resources, designing a systemic process to support them in becoming subject matter experts in their areas
    • Have knowledge on platforms, applications, and peripheral systems. Create culture of learning and developing subject matter expertise in spaces
    • Work effectively across different groups and be able to manage competing demands
    • Identify dependencies and keep both Mumbai and US-based partners informed
    • Promote individual growth and development amongst the UAT team.
    • Champion mobility throughout the Platforms Org and develop and communicate clear career trajectory paths for testers (to BA/PO roles, Testing Lead, etc.), with the goal of reducing attrition from Morgan Stanley India
    • Set cultural tone for the organization, fostering a tight-knit, team-oriented environment for test teams working on disparate functionality with different stakeholders

Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, technology or related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience required
  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant QA/UAT experience with 5+ years of people management experience, including senior team members
  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in financial services / program management
  • Partnering with various internal groups and stakeholders across different regions

Skills Required:

  • Strong experience in UAT and software testing methodologies. Understanding of Business processes
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with Agile methodologies, delivery practices and reporting
  • Expertise in Test Management Tools (JIRA, HP ALM etc). Experience in tools/techniques/processes such as Selenium, RestAssured, Gradle, Junit, GIT Stash, Agile, BDD, TeamCity
  • Exceptional Stakeholder management skills, able to build report and trust globally
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Exceptional people manager, culture-setter, proven team skills - building and scaling big teams
  • Accountability : Possessing strong sense of accountability and relationship building
  • Problem Solving: Self-starter with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with distinctive thought leadership and ability to handle several tasks concurrently under tight deadlines
  • Superior active listening, research/investigative, communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills; being able to tailor such skills for different audiences
  • Ability to think laterally and convey big-picture understanding; identify risks, (quality) issues, trends, and remediations, including when working with technology and business stakeholders
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience in Automation testing is a plus - Execution of automation dealing with various automation tools and techniques
