Job Description

Overview:
As a Java Engineer specializing in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based applications and solutions that leverage various GCP services such as Dataflow, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Bigtable, Google Cloud Storage (GCS), and others. You will work closely with cross functional teams to architect and implement scalable, reliable, and high-performance cloud-based solutions.
Develop Java-based software components, modules, and libraries to integrate with GCP services.
Implement data processing pipelines using GCP services such as Dataflow for stream and batch processing.
Integrate with GCP Pub/Sub for event-driven architectures and messaging solutions.
Utilize BigQuery for real-time analytics and data warehousing, and Bigtable for high-performance NoSQL databases.
Implement storage solutions using Google Cloud Storage (GCS) for scalable and durable object storage.
Testing and Quality Assurance:

Write unit tests, integration tests, and system tests to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of Java applications and GCP integrations.
Conduct code reviews and participate in quality assurance activities to maintain code quality and adherence to coding standards.
Deployment and Operations:

Deploy and manage Java applications and services on Google Cloud Platform using tools such as Kubernetes Engine, App Engine, or Compute Engine.
Configure and manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or Deployment Manager.
Monitor application performance, resource utilization, and system health using GCP monitoring and logging tools.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

Document architecture designs, implementation details, and deployment procedures for reference and knowledge sharing.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on GCP services and best practices.
Contribute to internal knowledge sharing sessions and technical workshops to foster learning and collaboration.
Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Proven experience in Java development with a focus on building cloud-based applications and services.
Strong proficiency in Java programming language and related frameworks and libraries.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as Dataflow, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Bigtable, GCS, Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, etc.
Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts, microservices architecture, and distributed systems.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or Deployment Manager.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross functional team in an agile development environment.
