Come join the team behind Alexa, building the speech AI data centre and large language model solutions behind Amazon Echo, Amazon products, services for 44 countries. You can help us invent the future.

As a SDM you will be responsible for leading a team delivering large projects across Alexa. You will have a significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define these product features, driving the system architecture, and spearheading best practices to enable a superior product.

You will be expected to make appropriate trade-offs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote project teams. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring your team operates efficiently. You’ll coordinate cross-team programs to deliver state-of-the-art natural language based capabilities. You’ll help teams identify key risks, provide guidance on how to communicate them, and ensure leadership has the right visibility. This role will have to work closely with senior leaders across Alexa and lead strategic initiatives.

About the team
Our team is responsible for scaling Alexa to 44 countries. We encourage bold exploration of interactions and experiments that push innovation and use these learnings to bolster the foundation of best practice reference design patterns that foster a consistent, efficient, and familiar cross-product experience.

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
