Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
This job should lead the design and implementation of enterprise applications. Responsible for building platforms and frameworks to create consistent, verifiable, and automatic management of applications and infrastructure between production and non-production environments. Deploying product updates, identifying production issues, and implementing integrations that meet our customers' needs. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering and be familiar with DevOps tools & technologies and will work with developers and engineers to ensure that software development follows established processes and works as intended.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Mainframe Enhancements Project DBB 2.0 upgrade.
Provide repos and testing criteria for product areas.
Provide test cases to be tested by internal testing team.
Manage any issues and answer questions during testing. Provide plan for production roll out if testing is successful.
UAT Code Move Automation-Create a process that allows teams to successfully move code to UAT daily.
Retirement of elements-Create a process for allowing teams to retire old mainframe elements.
Ticket Escalations-Assist with test environment issues that have been escalated or can't be solved by build engineers.
Assist with TEUs, helping to determine if mainframe code can be introduced without causing impacts to a region; find another region that will work given the timing of the testing needed.
BCBSA Environment build out-Be able to assist with build out of pipelines, concatenations, test copy, and any other processes to make the environment work as expected.
Attend and provide direction during the Post Release follow-up call with product teams on lessons learned.
Participate in the Test Environment Communications Meeting-this meeting is held bi-weekly allowing teams to present items that impact other areas.
Assist in strategy to review how test regions are currently being used to determine how we can use assets we already have for new initiatives.
Architect having FEP/Optum testing continue in TENV1 without impacting Claims emergency changes going in while FEP/Optum testing is going on
Creating a solution to reduce build times-One being the move of copylibs to a separate repo to remove the need for the manual creation of a build list.

EDUCATION
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Master of Computer Applications, or related field
EXPERIENCE
Required
8-12 years' experience
Preferred
1-2 years in the Health Insurance Industry
SKILLS
Devops tools and Technologies, experience in tool like UCD, Jenkins, Gitlab, application using Jenkins, Build tools like Ant, Maven, Binary Repository tools like Artifactory.
Ansible Automation Tools.
OS experience in Mainframe/ AS400-/Micro focus, Windows, Linux
Knowledge in IBM DBB tool
Scripting knowledge in Python, groovy.
