Job Description

Mainframe Developer

Development & Maintenance: Develop and maintain mainframe-based applications for SHAW Loan Management Software used in the loan servicing lifecycle. This includes functionalities for loan setup, payment processing, account servicing, collections, and reporting.
SHAW Software Expertise: Apply your knowledge of SHAW Loan Management Software to configure, customize, and enhance loan servicing workflows, ensuring seamless operations for both consumer and commercial loans.
Mainframe Programming: Write and maintain COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS code within the mainframe environment to meet the business requirements of loan servicing, including payment schedules, loan modifications, and collections.
System Integration: Work closely with other development teams to integrate SHAW loan servicing modules with other core business systems (e.g., accounting, customer service, risk management) and external APIs or services.
Troubleshooting & Support: Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and application bugs, ensuring minimal disruption to loan servicing operations. Provide on-call support as necessary
Performance Tuning: Identify and address performance issues within the SHAW system and optimize for faster processing times and efficient resource utilization.
Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation for system architecture, code, and user guides. Ensure all modifications and customizations are well-documented for future reference and compliance.
Testing & Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure comprehensive testing of new functionality and bug fixes. Participate in code reviews to maintain high coding standards and quality.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with advancements in mainframe technologies, loan servicing trends, and SHAW platform enhancements to suggest improvements or new functionalities for the loan servicing process.

Mandatory Skills

SHAW Loan Management Software and loan servicing applications.
COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS
MVS and z/OS mainframe environments.
Proficiency in DB2 and SQL
Experience in integrating mainframe applications with other backend systems, third-party APIs, and data sources
