About the Role:
Engineering Manager, PayPal Global Products Solutions Engineering
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Mobile development teams in creating state-of-the-art payment experiences for PayPal's global markets. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in mobile engineering and proven management experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both Android and iOS development, with a deep understanding of mobile architecture, security best practices, and user experience design. As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for guiding technical innovation, fostering team growth, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality mobile solutions that redefine how customers pay and get paid.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage high-performing mobile engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business, product, analytics, UX design, and engineering) to define and execute mobile product strategy.
Architect and oversee the implementation of scalable, secure, and responsive mobile solutions across diverse platforms.
Mentor and develop engineering talent, promoting professional growth and technical expertise.
Champion best practices in mobile development, ensuring adherence to industry standards and emerging technologies.
Drive the complete lifecycle of transaction processing, with a focus on the payments domain.
Stay informed about the latest trends in mobile technology and integrate them into the team's development practices.
What You Need to Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; advanced degree preferred.
10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on mobile app development.
2+ years of experience in engineering management, leading teams and projects.
Expert proficiency in Kotlin/Java (Android) and Swift/Objective-C (iOS).
Strong object-oriented skills, including design, coding, and testing patterns.
Proven ability to design scalable, reliable, and maintainable software systems.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
Experience in building the complete lifecycle of transaction processing, preferably in the payments domain.
Active participation in tech events, hackathons, contributions to open source, authoring of blogs, and engagement in online tech forums is a plus.
