The Commercial Data Office (CoDO) team, within Global Commercial Services (GCS), is focused on powering the best customer experience and business growth through streamlined data. With continuous changes in the regulatory environment and innovation through data evolving, CoDO plays a key role in strengthening GCS critical enablers and supporting new growth opportunities. In partnership with the Enterprise Data Office and across GCS, CoDO is tasked with improving existing systems and building new, innovative data solutions for our customers, while adhering to regulations and data management best practices.

How will you make an impact in this role?

The Analyst – Data Strategy will report to Data Strategy Manager within Commercial Data Office (CoDO). This role will be responsible for discovery and analysis needed to support the data strategy creation and architecture solutions developed by CoDO along with Business, Product and Technology partners. This role will also collaborate with peers from Commercial Data Governance, Data Quality & Issue Management and Commercial Data Capabilities and Tools to evolve and deliver against CoDO’s strategy and roadmap.

We’re looking for someone passionate about data who enjoy a fast-paced environment, operates cross-functionally (both with business, product and technology partners), and maintains a positive attitude and sense of humor in the face of challenges. To be successful in this role the person must have a good hand-on understanding of data, be persistent, exhibit good follow up and perseverance. They must be able to communicate their thoughts, findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Conduct data discovery and analysis in support of various data strategy initiatives.
Assist data architects to assess current state of data ecosystem to identify data challenges and opportunities.
Prepare interview questionnaire, consolidate responses from data discovery sessions, identify themes and recommendations.
Understand and provide recommendations on data flows, data relationships, linkages, and associated rules.
Build conceptual /logical data model for data platforms, along with associated metadata.
Query data platforms to access data availability, quality and to build reports and insights to assist data initiatives
Support creation of holistic Data Architecture, roadmap and associated data artifacts.
Understand and adopt frameworks and best practices from CoDO Data governance and Chief data office.
Provide ongoing updates to Project management office on status of data strategy initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

2+ years of direct work experience in Data management / analytics space
Experience performing data analysis and working with analytics teams
Experience in capturing data needs, identifying root cause of data challenges, and defining data roadmaps.
Experience understanding the origin and transformation of data along a business process lifecycle.
Experience in data modeling tools and terminologies, data base technologies, including data platforms on cloud.
Understanding of data governance, data quality, data security, master data, metadata management and data principles
Track record of understanding business challenges and translating them into solutions
Exposure to current data management, architecture and data product techniques and trends
Self-starter, takes initiative, able to handle ambiguity and find logical steps to move forward.
