Job Description

🎯 Role Purpose

Seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst with strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and advanced SQL capabilities. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze data, perform fit-gap analysis, and develop efficient data models. The ideal candidate should have experience in BigQuery, Airflow/Cloud Composer, and familiarity with modern data processing tools.

🛠️Key Responsibilities

🤝 Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand project objectives, KPIs, and data needs. Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications.
🔍 Explore, analyze, and validate large datasets using SQL and GCP tools.
📊 Identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights to support decision-making.
⚖️ Compare current state data processes with future requirements to identify gaps.
💡 Recommend solutions to bridge identified gaps efficiently.
🧱 Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models for analytical and reporting needs.
🎯 Ensure data structures align with business goals and performance requirements.
🗺️ Create detailed mapping documents defining transformation rules from source systems to target databases. Write clear pseudo code for ETL/ELT processes to support engineering implementation.
📚 Contribute to knowledge-sharing sessions and mentor junior engineers on best practices and new technologies.
🏗️ Apply Data Warehouse concepts such as dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and data marts to support scalable analytics solutions.

🧠 Required Skills & Experience

✅ Mandatory

🧠 Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Strong hands-on experience
🧠 SQL: Advanced proficiency in writing complex queries and optimizing performance
🧠 BigQuery: Expertise in building queries, optimizing datasets, and cost-efficient querying
🧠 Cloud Composer (Airflow): Experience in orchestrating data workflows

🌟 Optional / Nice to Have

🔔 Pub/Sub: For event-driven data integration
🔄 Dataflow: For large-scale data processing pipelines
🔥 Dataproc: For Hadoop/Spark-based data processing

🎓 Qualifications

🎓 Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field
📈 5+ years of experience in data analysis, modeling, and ETL/ELT processes
🧠 Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
🗣️ Excellent communication skills for translating technical findings into business insights
