We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join India Food Safety and Compliance team as a Food Safety Manager to assure regulatory and operational compliance. IN Food safety program vision is to protect Amazon customers and to gain their trust by ensuring that food products on our market place are safe, statutorily compliant and meet relevant defined quality expectations.

Key job responsibilities
The Food Safety Manager will develop food safety protocols, implement risk management solutions, including within a facility, from production to storage and distribution. They are responsible for overall upkeep, food hygiene and safety standards of the location. They leverage in-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and standards, including HACCP and GMP, to monitor activities through out food chain for upkeep of Food safety standards.
They provide training and support to employees on food safety practices, hygiene standards, and relevant regulations. They participate in trainings, and stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging food safety issues. They set up or maintain mechanisms to monitor operations, conduct inspections, analyze root causes (5 Whys/Fish Bone), and trigger corrective and preventive actions based on data or subject matter expertise driven insights (food safety trends, incidents, and regulatory changes).
They partner with stakeholders (Operations, Business, Legal, Tech) to eliminate risks, ensure compliance, and communicate safety metrics across stakeholders. They liaise with technology and product partners to ensure automation of compliance (or other) processes based on feasibility, optimize documentation systems and reduce over processing of information, and efficiently track input/output metrics. They lead incident responses, analyze trends, ensure implementation of solutions, and document lessons learned to prevent recurrence. They collaborate with food industry stakeholders to provide guidance on best practices for food safety and quality assurance. They act as the primary point of contact for managing regulatory interactions, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and compliance.

A day in the life
The Food Safety Manager is crucial to building new programs, improving existing processes, and executing food safety and compliance initiatives. The candidate will work cross-functionally with other Food Safety team members, Legal, Operations and Business stakeholders.

We deliver on this mission with science-based, data-driven programs that we continuously improve for the benefit of our customers- 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience
- Experience handling confidential information
- Bachelor's or equivalent degree (B.Tech/ M.Tech/ M.Sc) in Food Science/ Food Technology/ Food Safety/ related field
