Job Description

The Senior SAP ABAP Lead oversees and guides development teams to design, build, and deliver high‑quality SAP S/4HANA solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives, clean‑core principles, and SAP best practices across end‑to‑end implementation initiatives.
Is a seasoned technology professional with deep expertise in SAP ABAP on S/4HANA, including RAP, CDS Views, AMDP, OData services, Workflows, and Adobe Forms, with proven capability in solution architecture, technical decision‑making, estimation, and team mentoring.
Is typically responsible for defining the technical strategy and execution roadmap for SAP development initiatives, managing delivery across one or more full‑cycle implementation projects, overseeing scope, quality, timelines, and ensuring successful deployment and production readiness.
Builds and strengthens leadership, technical excellence, and delivery discipline by staying current with SAP S/4HANA innovations and RAP‑based development models, enforcing performance and security standards, and fostering a collaborative, high‑performance engineering culture within the team.
Collaborates as a trusted partner with cross‑functional teams, architects, and business stakeholders, communicating solutions clearly, managing expectations effectively, and creating a positive, outcome‑driven environment for successful SAP transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Is typically responsible for setting the strategic direction of software development efforts, managing project portfolios, and ensuring effective execution of software engineering initiatives to meet organizational objectives.4. Builds skills and expertise in leadership, staying abreast of industry trends, and cultivating a collaborative and high performance culture within the software engineering team.5. Collaborates and acts as a team player with cross functional teams, executives, and stakeholders, fostering a positive and productive environment for successful software development initiatives.

Job Description - Grade Specific

Requires a solid understanding of software development principles with 14–18 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP, along with strong technical and people leadership skills. Individuals in this role are expected to lead end-to-end implementations on SAP S/4HANA, guide and mentor a team of developers, and take ownership of solution design and delivery. They are responsible for planning and coordinating the team’s tasks, providing ongoing technical direction, conducting quality reviews, and ensuring high standards of performance and delivery outcomes. The role also involves working closely with functional and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions while ensuring adherence to best practices and clean-core principles.
