Job Description

We are excited to announce a new and thrilling opportunity for a Lead Expert, Cybersecurity within our Enabling Functions (EF) sector. This role offers senior-level visibility and involves partnering with and providing support to all teams in the Enabling Functions of Merck.The role will based in Bangalore, India, and is reporting to Head of Architecture & Security - DDIT Enabling Functions. The Lead Expert, Cybersecurity for Enabling Functions will work closely with the Sector CISO and collaborate with other corporate Cybersecurity functions, including Governance and Risk, Security Operations, Security Engineering, and Business Enablement. Additionally, this role will involve cross-sector collaboration with Healthcare, Electronics, and Life Science, as well as with OT Engineering teams to help execute the Company’s Cyber Security Strategy. Key responsibilities include but not limited to:Assist in the development, evolution, and implementation of Merck’s corporate Cybersecurity framework and strategy to safeguard the organization from cyber threats.Provide consultation and guidance on cybersecurity for EFs. Consultation/counseling in regards to cybersecurity for EFs.Identify and address potential threats, vulnerabilities, and risks within relevant IT infrastructure and systems. Contribute to the creation and enforcement of cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures within DD&IT and EFsSupport security audits, compliance assessments, and certification processes to adhere to industry standards and regulations.Aid application business owners and service delivery managers in audit preparation and findings resolution.Stay updated with emerging cybersecurity technologies, tools, and trends, and assess their suitability for implementation.Foster a culture of cybersecurity awareness and education throughout the organization by conducting training sessions and awareness programs. Who You Are:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science or engineeringAt least 7 years of working experience with 4 years in Cybersecurity field with a key focus on industry standards and regulatory requirements such as ISO/IEC 27002, TÜVIT Trusted Site Infrastructure (v4), PCI DSS, CIS CSC, NIST SP 800-64 R2, HIPAA, or KRITIS / B3S PHARMADemonstrated experience across information security domains, particularly in IT, OT, IoT, and productsIdeally, one or more industry-recognized security or audit professional certifications, like CISA, CISM, CISSP, or CCSPStrong analytical and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to present to and build consensus with teams across organizational linesPositive attitude and capability to contribute to a dynamic and team-oriented cultureStrategic, holistic, and long-term oriented thinkerCustomer value-oriented, self-motivated, and self-directed pragmatic leaderFluency in English; additional language skills, such as German, are considered an advantage.
