Job Title: Senior/Lead AEM Backend Developer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Senior/Lead AEM Backend Developer to contribute to the design and development of scalable and secure AEM solutions, with a strong focus on backend development for Digital Asset Management (DAM) and workflow automation. The ideal candidate will have experience with AEM Assets, Workflows, secure content handling, and performance troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

AEM Backend Development:

Develop and maintain robust, reusable OSGi services and Sling models to support AEM Assets features and integrations.
Implement custom asset workflows, including triggers for asset deletion and notifications for asset updates to users or external systems.

AEM Assets Management:

Configure and extend AEM Assets functionalities such as Smart Tagging, metadata schemas, and renditions.
Implement and enforce asset lifecycle policies including versioning, expiration, and secure access controls.

Secure Document Handling:

Develop solutions for handling secure PDFs, including access permissions, watermarking, and restricted downloads.
Ensure secure asset handling across environments and in line with compliance standards.

Workflow Automation:

Design and maintain custom workflows using AEM’s workflow engine for asset approvals, processing, and publishing.
Integrate with external systems (e.g., APIs, notification services) where needed.

Performance Optimization & Caching:

Identify and troubleshoot caching issues in dispatcher and AEM instances.
Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to optimize cache strategies and reduce latency.

Collaboration & Code Quality:

Work closely with frontend developers, QA engineers, and solution architects to ensure alignment on technical requirements.
Ensure code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to AEM development standards.

Required Skills:

5+ years of backend development experience in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM 6.x or Cloud Service).
Strong expertise in Java, OSGi, Sling, JCR, and Apache Felix.
Hands-on experience with AEM Workflows, AEM Assets, Secure PDF handling, and Smart Tagging.
Deep understanding of dispatcher caching, invalidation strategies, and content delivery performance.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs, Adobe I/O integrations, and external system connectivity.
Experience with Git, Maven, Jenkins, and other CI/CD tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

Adobe Certified Expert – AEM Developer (or working towards certification).
Experience with cloud-native AEM and headless content delivery.
Exposure to asset reporting tools, analytics, or metadata governance.
