Job Description

Here's an opportunity to be at the centre of the action within the Oracle Database product group.

The Database Program Management team is looking for a dynamic person to manage fast-paced releases both for the cloud and on-prem.

The role is a highly visible one and involves working with global, cross-functional teams to determine release content, collate and publish timelines to internal and external stakeholders, and track all activities on a continuous basis for a successful release.

The program management team establishes priorities, monitors and facilitates adherence to quality standards and processes through tools and automation, and drives resolution of issues and dependencies across teams to ensure schedules are met.

It also presents release status and risks to executive management regularly.

The role provides ample opportunities to analyse engineering processes and metrics, design new ones to address problematic areas and work with stakeholder teams to implement them.

The ideal candidate would have the following:

Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in a software product development organization. (I’m thinking IC4.)

Broad technical knowledge.

Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.

Strong critical thinking skills.

Demonstrated ability and desire to analyse existing processes and practices, and introduce improvements.

Demonstrated ability for ownership and accountability of programs.

Demonstrated ability to build consensus and partnerships across teams.

Demonstrated ability to enforce standards of quality and compliance.

Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to gauge organizational dynamics.

Should have a curious mindset and a persistent attitude.

Some project management experience would be advantageous.mplementation process of a specific company product.
