Position Title: Principal Consultant Department: Global Consulting – CGBU
Product: Oracle Communications 5G CNE Job Objective:

The global purpose of the Consulting Engineer team is to take care of a project on the technical aspects from the PO reception till that the system is in production and validated by the Customer. The team is in charge of the project deployment and interacts with any others Oracle services (i.e. (PSA, PM, Design Support, TAC, pre-sales, Consulting/Product sales, order management, Logistic, Installation companies, sub-contractors etc.) in order to increase the consulting efficiency and solve the issues and ensure a professional and high quality work along the project. The team takes care of the handover to the Support Services team which will be in charge of the maintenance of the system.

The position requires having a very good knowledge and skills on Cloud Native Environment (CNE). He would need to build up his skillset on 5G NF such as OC-SPF, OC-NRF, OC-PCF, OC-NSSF, OC-BSF, OC-DSR.

Job Description:

Reporting to Consulting Practice Director/Manager (CGBU) –Global Consulting Services (GSC), Consultant is responsible for:

Provide post-sales technical services and support for Cloud Native Environment Oracle CGBU customers.
Perform integration of network nodes and play the role for designing and integration of network nodes in the 5G/4G LTE/IMS network.
Plan and execute database conversions, cutover support, system migrations, system provisioning, and other services as needed for Oracle Communications PCF/SPF/NSSF/UDR/NRF/PCRF/DSR/UDR Deployment
Customization of common tools as part of CNE such as Helm, Jaeger, EFK, Prometheus, Grafana etc for integration of NF in standard and non-standard environments.
Create automated testing for NF using Jenkins.
Provide installation support for Oracle communications portfolio in coordination with Installation team
Work with customers to ensure technical compatibility with third party products required for "turnkey" network implementations.
Complete large sized implementation assignments (multiple Oracle product configurations).
Create SAED, HLD (High level design) and LLD (low level Design Documents.
Create, maintain and update detailed Statements of Work (SOW’s), Methods of Procedures (MOP’s), Completion Notices (CN’s), project plans and schedules of activities and deliverables.
Support, create and execute customer acceptance test plans (ATP's).
Assist in the sales cycle to understand size and scope customer requirements for complex service implementation of Oracle products including capacity analysis, database sizing requirements, special feature implementation, etc.
Prepare and load complex Oracle product configurations and provisioning.
Perform acceptances for the product and applications.
Perform onsite Upgrades/migrations.
Perform onsite/remote troubleshooting of the issues reported during the project deployment cycle
Be an effective team player and work under leadership, with team mates and subordinates.
Effectively communicate and work with the Customer Service management team and project managers in a multiple project environment.
Perform the duties assigned by management effectively and most efficiently to meat organizational goals.
Complete technical audits of customer Telecoms networks.
Complete customer network growth and capacity analysis projects.
Should be able to conduct Special internal and customer workshop when not covered by Training department.
Assist Customer and Oracle IT to setup VPN for remote connections.
Should be ready to travel on short notices when needed.

Qualification, Experience, Communication and Inter-personal skills desired:

BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent plus a minimum of 1+ years’ experience in a technical work environment.
Excellent problem solving/analytical skills.
Strong oral and written communications skills. Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate work status, risks and issues.
Experience with system installations at a customer site, supervising cabling and hardware mounting with contract help.
Must have advanced knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes including deployments, local registry, upgrades, Cluster Size Expansion/ Contraction, Troubleshooting, Tracing.
Must have worked on Jenkins for creation of automated testing of network functions.
Must have ability to work on common services such as but not limited to Jaeger, EFK, Prometheus, Grafana, MetalLB, Flannel, Gluster, Helm etc including customization ability.
Must have advanced knowledge on the MySQL Cluster and concepts.
Must have advanced knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl/ Python/ Shell/ Java/ PHP etc.
Knowledge of Diameter/SS7/Sigtran/TCAP/MAP/INAP/CAP/HTTPv2 will be added advantage.
Knowledge of 5G, 4G and 3G nodes such as PCF/UDR/NSSF/NRF/PCRF/PCEF/SPR/DSR/STP etc will be added advantage.
Good knowledge of IoT architecture and associated components and interfaces.
Must have high level of trouble shooting skills and knowledge of various tools needed for problem diagnosis and corrective measures.
Must have experience in creating project technical document like SAED/NAPD/HLD/LLD/ATP/SOW/ATPs.
Knowledge and experience with UNIX/Linux/Solaris would be a plus.
Understanding of LAN/WAN, routers, switches and VOIP applications in a telephony environment.
Ability to interpret and develop detailed network/system drawings as needed.
Working knowledge of domestic and international network architectures and network implementations is a plus.
Must be a self-starter and able to work independently with Field service experience in customer facing roles.
Ability to effectively deal with multiple activities and changing priorities and proven problem solving and organizational skills.
Perform under pressure in critical situations.
Willing to do domestic and international travel with minimal notice up to 100% of the time and occasionally more often.
Ability to act under leader direction and exercise a leadership.
Ability to effectively manage issues according to the company guidelines and procedures (SR, RMA etc. ).
Ability to help the PM in his activity
Ability to effectively interface with outside organizations and customers.
Ability to interface with colleagues, peers, or other internal contacts on general problems associated with specific issues.
Maintain a professional presence.
Ability to provide a relevant reporting.
Need to be autonomous and rigorous to successfully complete the tasks.
