KYC Refresh Team Management – Vice President – Operations, Core Services

We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Vice President in Client Onboarding & Reference Data Services (CORDS) to support the KYC CDD Refresh team in Mumbai which is responsible for managing the refresh program across global jurisdictions.

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is an Advanced Specialist position at Vice President level within Core Services, which is responsible for performing and managing product-agnostic and centralized operational services across several businesses and products.

What you'll do in the role:

The Mumbai KYC CDD Refresh team is responsible for managing the refresh program across global jurisdictions and ensuring timely and accurate completion of periodic refresh reviews of the firm’s clients. The team partners closely with Global Financial Crimes, Legal and Compliance, internal/external stakeholders to contribute to the success of the refresh program.

KYC Refresh supports a number of regulatory compliance requirements specified by our local/global regulators and provide a rigorous and robust process of investigation that seeks, with reasonable assurance, to verify and validate the customer's identity and their business.

· Manage complex processes and/or support significant process management/project efforts.

· Lead in process improvement, project management or technology development and testing across multiple teams and/or divisions.

· Analyze and expose ambiguous, complex issues or non-standard issues, identify risks, root causes and propose future actions, tracking through to resolution.

· Build and manage relationships with business unit partners, other Morgan Stanley infrastructure departments, and external contact points in Client or Market organizations.

· Strong leadership experience is an KYC Refresh or AML production type roles

· Experience of delivering high standards of client engagement

· College/University degree or equivalent with a business focus and relevant/proven experience

· Strong knowledge of AML/KYC

· AML, client onboarding, or client reference data experience desirable

· Proven track record of ongoing coaching, educating and leading teams

· Outstanding client management, partnership building, leadership and direct experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders at one time

· Experience in EMEA KYC programs will be preferred

What you'll bring to the role:

· Extensive career experience of 13+ years in Front-to-back knowledge of the processes, projects, systems, markets and instruments that influence their team with a comprehensive understanding of job-related operational/compliance policies and procedures.

· Ability to think commercially, understand the impact of initiatives, risks on the operational budget

· Ability to address non-standard issues within area of expertise Culture carrier and role model, representing and leading the Firm's core values to influence and motivate those around you

· Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and adapt to the needs of the team as they arise

· Proven experience in team leadership and supervising staff

· Demonstrate ability to motivate, support and communicate effectively within large teams.

· Exceptional problem-solving skills, ability to independently assess and identify plans for resolution.

· Exceptional organizational skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize time accordingly.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills

· Strong ability to manage large data sets in order to analyze project trackers and metrics

· Expertise in data visualization and reporting in a cross-functional team and to senior stakeholders using business intelligence tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Qlikview,etc.) preferred

· Foster and champion High Performance Culture where people are empowered to make decisions that affect their work/environment

· At least 6 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
