Amazon's Finance Technology organization (FinTech) is responsible for building and maintaining the critical finance technology applications that enable new business growth, ensure compliance with financial and tax reporting obligations, and provide deep analysis of Amazon's financial data. This function is of paramount importance to the company, as it underpins Amazon's ability to effectively manage its finances and drive continued expansion.
At the heart of FinTech's mission is the General Ledger team, which builds and operates the technologies to account for and post millions of financial transactions daily to support accurate internal and external financial reporting. This team processes on average 371MM+ transactions per month, servicing the accounting needs of Finance, Accounting, and Tax teams worldwide. The work of the General ledger team is absolutely essential to meeting Amazon's critical close timelines and maintaining the integrity of the company's financial data.
Amazon Financial Technology Team is looking for an experienced and results-oriented Technical Program Manager to help us create the next generation of distributed, scalable financial systems. Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys the challenge of highly complex business contexts that are typically being defined in real-time. We need someone who can design and develop services that facilitate global financial transactions worth billions (USD) annually.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a mission-critical initiative with significant organizational visibility and impact. You will serve as the technical program manager for this strategic, high-impact, and highly confidential greenfield software project. You will oversee the execution of the program's roadmap, ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives and the successful delivery of core capabilities. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders, you will identify dependencies, and mitigate risks, while establishing and maintaining effective communication channels to keep stakeholders informed of progress, challenges, and key decisions.
You will work closely with the engineering team to architect and implement the core services that will form the backbone of the new accounting software. You will identify opportunities to leverage the latest technologies, frameworks, and tools, such as cloud computing, distributed systems, data processing, and real-time analytics, and collaborate with Principal Engineers and Senior Principal Engineers to review and validate the proposed technical solutions, offering your industry expertise and strategic insights.
Cultivating strong working relationships with product managers, data engineers, accountants, and other key stakeholders, you will facilitate effective communication and coordination across teams, aligning on priorities, dependencies, and delivery timelines. Representing the technical team's interests, you will advocate for the resources and support needed to ensure the successful delivery of the program. Delivering impactful presentations and status updates to senior leadership, you will demonstrate the team's contributions and the project's overall impact on the organization.
