Business Intelligence Manager, Amazon

Job Description

Are you passionate about working with Amazon-scale data, analytics/science, and state-of-the-art data infrastructure? Do you love bringing data together from diverse systems and sources, and solving complex analytics problems for creating deep understanding of customer behavior and generating actionable business insights? Does the idea of working closely with a partner team of product managers, operations leaders, machine-learning scientists, and software engineers excite you? Are you interested in influencing the Books Discovery & Reading experience through data insights?

Books Data Quality org: Our vision is for Amazon to be the most accurate source of book catalog data in the world. Books catalog attributes are the foundation of customer and author experiences and improving the accuracy of our catalog data enables us to build a delightful store that supports discovery, earns trust with our customers (and authors and publishers), and helps customers find their best next book. The scope of this initiative includes verifiable facts about a book (e.g., title, author, publisher, publication/street date), ASIN-ASIN relationships (e.g., titleset and work authority constructs) and subjective attributes of a book (e.g., categorization such as browse or tags). Examples of facts about a book that are out of scope include: customer-ASIN relationships (e.g., relevancy scores), quality of the book content itself (formatting, well-written), and price or deal status
Reading Experience: We envision Kindle as the place where readers find the best manifestation of all written content optimized with features that enable them to get the most out of reading, and creators are able to realize their vision to customers quickly and at scale. Every time customers open their content, regardless of surface, they start or restart their reading in a familiar, useful and engaging place. We achieve this by building a strong foundation of core experiences and act as a force multiplier and partner for content creators (directly or indirectly) to easily innovate on top of Kindle's purpose built content experience stack in a simple and extensible way. We will achieve this by providing a best-in-class reading experience, unique content experiences, and remaining agile in meeting the evolving needs and preferences of our users. Our goal is to foster long-lasting reading habits and make us the preferred destination for enriching literary experiences.

This team will focus on improving the discovery & reading experience of books through data analysis and insights. You will be working with multiple product leaders in decision making by providing inputs on the insights and direction. Your team will be focusing on descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive insights.
