Job Description

Music and entertainment is a key pillar for Amazon Echo as showcased in the recent Alexa+ announce event. The leader of this team will own the core media pipeline and infrastructural components that are involved in device media experiences enjoyed by tens of millions of customers daily.

You are a passionate technologist and builder of high-quality products. You have great architecture skills and participate in technical designs and reviews. You are an experienced people coach and mentor with a penchant for creating high-performance teams.

You will lead and grow a mixed development and quality team that creates, maintains, and enhance entertainment experiences on Alexa Echo devices.

Key job responsibilities
* Monitor and hold the line for Media health metrics
* Maintain and upgrade core system components
* Build out automation test suites and increase test coverage
* Partner with teams to develop and launch new customer features and experiences
* Ensure quality of Media stack and manage build and release systems as required.
* Participate in ongoing on-call and operational support- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Preferred experience with embedded device software in C/C++ on Linux and Android
