How will you make an impact in this role?

This team is responsible for oversight and management of Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance program at Global Treasury Controllership, establishing the framework and methodology to ensure that Financial Reporting Risk at Amex is managed, in accordance with applicable SEC regulations. This position will support the evaluation of effectiveness of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) by performing Independent Testing of SOX controls, Process Risk Self-Assessment Review, Managing Operation Risk Event and ensure timely closing the events, Adhere business continuity plan for all Global Treasury Controllership (GTC) process, etc.

Responsibilities:

Validate operating effectiveness of SOX & Operational controls to support Control Owners / Process Owners in quarterly assertion process
Drive enhancements in control environment by identifying the improvement opportunities to the SOX/Operational Controls
Collaborate with key stakeholders including Business, Operational excellence, SOX, ORGG , etc. for quarterly testing and reporting
In-depth understanding of Risk and Control environment - Knowledge of the Sarbanes Oxley Act including SOX 302 / 404 .
Understanding of the testing methodology, controls / test procedures interpretation and conclude on testing results
Incumbent will be required to utilize their understanding of control environment to analyze current practice with a view to improve processes by providing alternative solutions.
Manage Annual Process Risk Self-Assessment (PRSA) Refresh for Global Treasury Controllership team
BC Plan updation/testing and monitoring the BCP readiness for Global Treasury controllership team.

Critical Factors to Success:

Ensure accurate testing and certification of SOX/Operational controls for GTC.
Provide support to GTC team on various control and compliance issues.
Continuous strive to achieve automation of the processes

Minimum Qualifications

Accounting/Finance degree or CA /M.Com/or MBA highly desired
Demonstrated commitment to quality and accuracy- Proven demonstration of personal excellence
Ability to process information (identify issues) quickly
Strong communication skills
Results driven, self-starter; able to lead and influence without authority
Works well in a changing environment and with tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Control and compliance related work
Excellent collaborative and relationship building skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
