Your Role and Responsibilities As a software developer in Db2 for z/OS team, you will be part of the team responsible for developing and maintaining the Db2 product on the z/OS platform. You will work on the design, implementation, and testing of new features that meet the needs of our clients. You will work with client and client success teams to resolve customer problems as well as deliver potential new enhancements with high quality.
We are looking for someone who has a strong desire to learn new technologies and is passionate about product quality and new technology. Candidates with strong programming, debugging and general problem troubleshooting skills are needed to excel in this position. As part of this role, you will also create function test cases to ensure code changes meet customer and internal requirements. GSW24
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Minimum 5-8 years of relevant software development experience
Programming skills in C/C++, Java, SQL and a desire to learn new technologies
Proficiency in source control management tools (GitHub, Tekton, Jenkins) and Agile
Life Cycle Management tools
Strong analytical, debugging and problem-solving skills to analyze issues and defects reported by customer and test teams
Knowledgeable about RDBMS concepts and SQL databases
Familiarity with agile software development processes
Ability to innovate in the areas of Product Engineering
Good communication skills and fluency in English
Flexible working schedule to collaborate with developers and teams located across different time zones
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
IBM Certified: Db2 for z/OS administrator or similar certification
Proficiency in z/OS and z/VM
IBM Certified: Db2 for z/OS administrator or similar certification
Proficiency in z/OS and z/VM
Experience with Db2 for z/OS, Db2 application development
Programming skills in Python, Node.js, and JCL
Programming skills in Assembler and PL/X is a plus
Ability to analyze system output from systems abends (logs, dumps)
