Job Description

Build and manage a strong, diverse, and inclusive organization to operate in a highly matrixed cross-functional environment.
Be accountable to deliver high quality foundational components across Google Home Apps, to drive scalability, subscription growth, and app development velocity.
Define and build an extensibility smart home platform to enable rich and scalable feature development across first-party and third-party partners.
Drive technical roadmap and prioritization for GHA infrastructure, to enable rapid feature development across devices (cameras, thermostat, media, cast, etc.).
Advocate tech debt elimination and scalable system architecture by partnering with ATLs and XTLs across the organization, prioritizing code cleanup, and promoting testing and quality best practices across the organization.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Swift, Obj-C).
3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
Experience in Android or iOS.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience managing Engineering teams, defining strategy and objectives.
Strong ability to collaborate with other people, teams and functions across the world.
Excellent verbal and written communication, people, and analytical skills, motivating team members and shaping team culture.
Proficiency in designing, building, and debugging mobile applications.

The Engineering Manager will lead a group of Android and iOS SWEs working on building innovative features in GHA across Mobile, Tablet, Smart Display and TV surfaces.
