Job Description
This opportunity requires the successful candidate to:
- Provide infrastructure analysis services to clients and/or internal stakeholders
- Analyse and understand user needs and expectations, as well as alternative infrastructure architectures and trends.
- Conduct analyses of technology and associated operational processes, with a view to recommending infrastructure designs and strategies that will improve service, lower costs, and prevent unforeseen operational issues.
- Implement and improve methodologies and tools applied to capacity planning, benchmark , workloads , performance KPIs and health check evaluation activities.
- Work closely with performance and benchmark teams together to identify best fit performance environments specifications, planning and evaluate performance data.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, identifying market potential, investigating the adaption of new technologies and is both dynamic and flexible.
- Display the ability to respond quickly to changing business needs, priorities, and timelines.
Skills & Experience:
- +10 years of professional IT experience with minimum 5 years of experience of working in telecom infrastructure engineering/architecture.
- Strong experience with On-Prem / Cloud Infrastructure services.
- At least 1 Infrastructure Advanced Certification (OKE, VMware, Microsoft, RedHat, Cisco, etc.) or hyperscaler Advanced Certification (OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP)
- TOGAF Certification or equivalent (ideal)
- Experience with Private / hybrid cloud solutions, either commercial tools (VMware, BMC, HP, Cisco, Microsoft, OKE) or OpenSource (Openstack, Cloudforms, etc.).
- Experience with automation and Orchestration of infrastructure operational processes (Ansible, BMC, VMware, Red Hat, Chef, Puppet, Terraform etc.).
- Knowledge of main hypervisors (VMware, Hyper-V) and network virtualization (NSX, etc.)
- Familiar with main operating systems (Linux and Windows) and middleware (appservers, webservers, databases and others).
- Experience with Containers (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
- Experienced in data centre transformation assessments and definition of infrastructure strategies and roadmap
- Experienced in architecture design and Implementation of infrastructure and automation solutions.
- Experienced in Deployment of High Availability (e.g. 99.99%, 99.999%) solutions.
- Experienced in IP Switching / Routing & SAN / Disk Layout fundamentals.
- Strong hands-on Linux and/or KVM experience.
- Has a broad knowledge of the Telecom industry, telecommunications software technology space and a personal interest in new technologies in hardware, software and processes.
- Experience in DevOps around Continuous Integration & Delivery (is preferred)
- Experience with Oracle Databases such as Enterprise DB & RAC, Exadata, MySql, TimesTen (is preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or IT/Telecommunications related.
- Team player with strong analytical skills and the ability to understand and resolve complex problems.
- Outstanding verbal, written and creative advertising communications skills a must.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
