Job Profile

Morgan Stanley Investment Management Technology (IMIT) exclusively partners with the Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) business division to design and develop systems and integrate vendor products to globally support full life cycle business processing. Activities include Portfolio Analysis, Risk, Trading, Operations, and Sales & Marketing. Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) Technology also provides holistic support and quality assurance across the suite of applications used in the MSIM environment.

The IMIT Sales Technology team owns Sales & Distribution technology platform. The team is responsible for defining technology strategy in-line with business goals and providing solutions in a very dynamic environment. Sales Platform is a distributed system with several integrated components, providing customized CRM functionality, data/process integration with firm systems, business intelligence through Reporting & Analytics and data driven Marketing & Lead Generation.

Overview
We are looking for an experienced developer to join our team with growing requirement of data & analytics to support business use cases within Sales & Marketing. The ideal candidate is adept at working with different data sources (structured and unstructured), transform and model it for analytics consumption, then analyze it to generate insights and develop dashboards on key metrics. They should be able to quickly understand the domain, so that they can cogently contribute to defining & developing key business metrics. Candidate will also have opportunity to work on projects that involve data-based decision making & advanced analytics using machine learning. Also, they should be able to collaborate with clients to understand requirements for data and analytics and deliver quality product. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the analytics needs of multiple systems/projects. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of contributing to our division's strategy and implementation of technology platform to support our next generation analytics initiatives.

Roles & Responsibilities

Work with various stakeholders including the Senior Management, Technology and Client teams to assist with data and analytics requirements.
Work with multiple data sources (including structured and unstructured) to create an optimize data cubes for consumption by analytical dashboards and/or downstream systems.
Create and maintain application components on distributed platform.
Analyze data to interpret against business opportunity and discover trends and patterns. Also, research and implement custom statistical models and machine learning algorithms.
Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture for extraction, transformation, and distribution of data from a wide variety of data sources.
Define key business metrics and develop analytical dashboards to provide actionable insights to Clients.
Identify, design, and implement improvements/automations for optimizing data processing, storage, and availability, while maintaining scalability.
Support migration of the analytics platform from on-premises to cloud infrastructure.

Skills Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with 4-9 years of professional experience as a developer in the data and analytics space. Or master's degree in computer science or related field with 3+ years of professional experience as a developer in the data and analytics space.
Strong experience with object-oriented or function scripting languages: Python (NumPy, Pandas), Java, C#, Scala, etc.
Strong experience in database development (Snowflake, SQL Server/Oracle/Sybase/DB2) in designing schema, complex procedures, complex data scripts, query authoring (SQL), and performance optimization.
Strong knowledge of software development and the system implementation life cycle is a must.
Experience working with a visualization tools like Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, etc.
Experience manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets.
Experience with statistical analysis and real-life applicability of machine learning algorithms (regression, classification, clustering, natural language processing).
Experience developing, testing & supporting multi-tier technology architectures.
Should be comfortable with Unix / Linux, shell-scripting, Excel.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Azure Data Factory) and pipelines across disparate sources is a plus.
Experience working with Microsoft Azure and Databricks is a plus.
