Division Profile:

The Analytics & Data (A&D) organization is a key growth area within Morgan Stanley’s Wealth Management Division, playing a critical role in the execution of the wider Wealth Management strategy. The use of analytics and data will be a key driver in accelerating growth across all client segments, enabling data-driven decision making and delivering the best client experience.

 

Position Summary:

This role within A&D NNA Analytics and Insights team is responsible for Net New Assets (NNA) reporting, forecasting and insights on the key drivers of NNA – the most important and visible metric for the WM business. You will engage teams across the organization to help with consolidating and streamlining NNA reporting. You will be responsible for analyzing key NNA drivers and communicating them to senior stakeholders while providing real business and financial impact. Additionally, you will help with determining insights on NNA forecasting and analyzing competitor flows by unlocking additional analytical or predictive use-cases from existing data.

 

In this role you will collaborate to build hypotheses, analyses, and effectively relay actionable insights. You will build relationships with key stakeholders across the organization including Strategy, Finance, Business Segments, Technology and Operations partners. This role will report to the Head of Analytics & Data Mumbai, joining a cohort of other ambitious and passionate associates, driven by ideas and with a bias towards strategic analytics. We are looking for someone willing to think beyond traditional organizational structures and with a strong desire to enhance the data and deepen the analytics.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:

·         Overseeing process and distribution of NNA reporting to key stakeholders on a daily, weekly, or monthly cadence

·         Validate data accuracy, reconcile data inconsistency and troubleshoot idiosyncratic scenarios for high quality deliverables

·         Understanding of key NNA drivers and how to communicate effectively to associated channels.

·         Enhance competitor flow data quality through streamlining of different data sources.

·         Problem solving skills – The candidate must demonstrate the ability to identify key issues, gather data to investigate those issues and develop actionable recommendations.

·         Analytical skills – The candidate must be highly analytical with experience in defining analytical approaches and applying a range of analytical tools to synthesize insights and develop solutions.

·         Teamwork skills – The candidate must be flexible in their work style and be able to work collaboratively with others on the team.

·         Client management skills – The candidate must demonstrate the ability to closely partner with senior managers and other stakeholders on reporting needs.

·         Communications skills – The candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills.

·         Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners to build out meaningful classifications on key metrics.

·         High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

·         Manage and coach team of 3-4 business analyst associates.

·         Experience or knowledge in data analytics toolsets such as: SQL, Excel, Tableau, Python. Dataiku (good to have)

 

Experience:

·         A minimum of 10 years of experience in a Data or Analytics role, preferably in the financial services industry.

·         Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

 

Required Skills:

·         Experience working with multiple data sources.

·         Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.

·         Experienced in data quality control and meticulous with data details.

·         Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.

·         Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
