Department Profile

The Fixed Income Division is comprised of Interest Rate and Currency Products, Credit Products and Distribution. Professionals in the Division assess and actively manage risk, trade securities, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets. The Commodities Division is a market leader in energy, metals, and agricultural product trading worldwide whose professional’s trade in both physical and derivative commodity risk.

Background on the Team

The Quantitative Investment Strategies Group (QIS) provides investment strategies to external clients and the MS sales desk. The role is within the QIS (Quantitative Investment Strategies) Structuring group, focused on Fixed Income products. We are looking for proactive, self-starting individual to be part of our India team working with the global QIS team. This is a challenging role and offering exposure to an interesting, dynamic product group and work environment to build your career in.

Primary Responsibilities

Development and marketing of QIS products, with Fixed Income products being the primary focus.
Work includes full lifecycle of delivering QIS: Understanding of raw data, ability to research ideas, ability to document strategies, collaborate with various functions globally (e.g. Sales, Structuring, Trading, Legal), creating marketing content, pitching products to client.
Perform monthly performance attribution of indices/strategies and highlight performance drivers.
Implement new indices/systematic strategies as well as modify existing strategies based on client requests.

Skills required:

Programing proficiency in Python and VBA is a must and Java is optional.
1-2 years of experience in designing systematic strategies, running back tests or performing quantitative analysis is useful.
Product Knowledge of Fixed Income Derivatives: Some or all of IR Swaption, IR Swaps, Inflation, Credit, FX, Rates is an advantage.
Degree with a quantitative discipline (i.e., Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Financial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science or Physics)
