Job Description

Job Title: Channel Health Engineer

Position Overview:
As a Channel Health Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of communication channels, such as programmatic dialing and email deliverability systems. You will troubleshoot issues end-to-end, from the browser interface to backend systems, and provide recommendations for improving channel health.

Key Responsibilities:

Python Development: Develop and maintain scripts and tools to monitor and enhance the health of communication channels, with a primary focus on Python.

Ruby Support: Leverage Ruby to work on platform integrations and support functionalities related to channel health.

Programmatic Dialing: Work with tools like Twilio to ensure optimal performance of programmatic dialing systems, including troubleshooting issues related to call quality, routing, and connectivity.

Email Deliverability: Monitor and optimize programmatic email systems to ensure high deliverability rates, with a focus on avoiding spam filters and improving open and reply rates.

Campaign Best Practices: Provide guidance to customers on best practices for email campaigns, including email authentication (SPF, DKIM), managing sender reputation, and improving deliverability.

End-to-End Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot call and video solutions across the entire stack, from browser-based interfaces to backend systems, ensuring seamless communication for users.

Regulatory Compliance: Work with TrustHub and ensure compliance with number provisioning regulations, such as STIR/SHAKEN and other industry standards.

Monitoring & Reporting: Implement and monitor health checks, logging systems, and alerts to ensure real-time detection of issues across communication channels.

Optimization: Identify and implement performance improvements for communication channels, including scaling and capacity management for high-traffic events.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, support) to resolve technical issues, enhance product features, and improve the customer experience.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Strong proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and troubleshooting tasks.

Experience with Ruby for supporting platform integrations and backend systems.

Experience or familiarity with programmatic dialing services such as Twilio and other related platforms.

Experience with email deliverability best practices, including knowledge of email spam filters, IP warming, and increasing open/reply rates.

Ability to troubleshoot and optimize call and video solutions from browser to backend, with a focus on communication quality and reliability.

Experience with TrustHub and understanding of number provisioning regulations (e.g., STIR/SHAKEN, CNAM, etc.).

Familiarity with industry standards and regulations around telephony and email campaigns.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle critical issues in real time.

Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, and logging systems.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and customer support.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Twilio APIs for SMS, voice, and video applications.

Familiarity with other email delivery platforms and tools (e.g., SendGrid, Amazon SES).

Experience with Docker and containerization for communication services.

Knowledge of telephony protocols and standards such as SIP, WebRTC, or VoIP.

Familiarity with DevOps practices, continuous integration, and automation tools.
