Job Description

The Amazon Business team is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer to help support our B2B business .

The role will focus on providing insights to allow our Amazon Business team make fast, accurate, and impactful decisions. The role will focus on reporting, analysis, and facilitating business reviews across our business teams. We are looking for a candidate with a passion for data, analytics, insights and technology who is eager to have a broad impact across one of the fastest growing e-commerce businesses in the world.

The successful candidate will have strong technical acumen and experience in developing reporting infrastructures and flexible front-end tools. You will conduct deep dive analyses of business growth opportunities and formulate conclusions and recommendations to be presented to senior leadership.

You will be working with dedicated team across our world wide Amazon Business teams, developing exciting products for B2B customers and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Often times, the ideal set of data will not be available and you'll have to think creatively about what is available in order to drive results. You will also be responsible for producing written recommendations and insights for key stakeholders that will help shape effective strategies to better meet our customers’ needs.

Key job responsibilities
1. You will have complete ownership of cross-functional projects, including product definition, roadmap and resource planning, and project execution.
2. You will work closely with business and operations leadership, including executive leadership at Amazon, to define the technical product and provide updates on the program.
3. You will manage all aspects of BI projects such as project planning, requirements definition, risk management, communication, and implementation planning.
4. You will be a technical problem solver on the team, identifying innovative solutions to project deadlocks and resolving constraints through consensus and sound judgment.
5. You will be responsible for making project decisions, achieving tactical goals while retaining a strategic focus.
6. You will improve current development standards and introduce new capabilities to the team.
7. You will hire and develop the best talents, mentor them on engineering path and help them achieve their career goals.
8. Provide insights to our Amazon business and Product Management teams as new initiatives are being identified, prioritized, implemented and deployed.
9. Establish new, scalable, efficient, automated processes for tracking and reporting on progress of initiatives.

About the team
We are central Amazon Business Marketing Analytics (ABMA) team for WW AB Marketing team. Our vision is to simplify and accelerate data driven decision making for AB Marketing by providing cost effective, easy & timely access to high quality data. Our core responsibilities towards AB marketing includes a) providing systems(infrastructure) & workflows that allow ingestion, storage, processing and querying of data b) building ready-to-use datasets for easy and faster access to the data c) automating standard business analysis / reporting/ dashboarding d) empowering business with self-service tools for deep dives & insights seeking. The value construct of these capabilities is to enhance the speed of business decision-making by reducing the effort & time to access actionable data.- 7+ years of business intelligence and analytics experience
- 5+ years of delivering results managing a business intelligence or analytics team, including employee development and performance management experience
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with ETL
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with R, Python, Weka, SAS, Matlab or other statistical/machine learning software
