How will you make an impact in this role?

This strategic role within the Credit and Fraud Risk Controllership (C&FRC) organization is integral to safeguarding and ensuring the integrity of AXP financial statements while proactively mitigating controllable financial risk. As a valued member of our world-class Controllership team, you will support critical business functions through credit reserve modeling expertise and comprehensive decision support services.

Primarily responsibilities of this positions are:

· Prepare accurate external footnote disclosures and regulatory filings for worldwide Modified Loans and Receivable for American Express and its significant subsidiaries

· Ensure adequacy of credit reserves for Modified Loans and Receivable through rigorous analysis and modeling

· Lead quarterly financial analysis, extracting meaningful insights from complex data to inform strategic decisions

· Develop and deliver compelling presentations for senior leadership on reserve adequacy and portfolio performance

· Provide expert business advisory support for new product initiatives: Assessing financial implications, reserving and disclosure requirements

· Drive process optimization initiatives while maintaining robust control frameworks

· Lead specialized projects focused on enhancing the control environment through comprehensive deep-dive analyses

· Work effectively under pressure to meet aggressive timelines without compromising quality

· Collaborate seamlessly within cross-functional teams while demonstrating exceptional independent judgment and initiative

This person will also interact regularly with Risk Finance & Credit and Fraud Risk team to analyze performance of modified loans and receivables.

The incumbent will collaborate closely with and cultivate relationships across various departments, including Risk Finance, Credit and Fraud Risk, Global Finance Initiative and Integrity, Global Accounting Policy Advisory, External and Regulatory Reporting, AENB, Investor Relations, Technologies, and PwC.

Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, MBA, CA, or CPA certification

· Minimum 3-5 years of financial and accounting experience with strong technical knowledge of US GAAP

· Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, index-match functions, data visualization) and SQL (Yellow Brick/Python)

· Additional experience with Oracle and Essbase/TM1 is highly desirable

· Demonstrated ability to create compelling executive presentations using PowerPoint

· Strong financial analysis capabilities with experience in large-scale data interpretation

· Proven problem-solving skills and analytical approach to business challenges

· Talent for translating complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights

· Demonstrated thought leadership in developing value-added analysis

· Proactive mindset with demonstrated ability to take initiative

· Intellectual curiosity and commitment to excellence

· Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and work ethic

· Excellent time management skills with capacity to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines

· Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, including presenting to senior leadership
