Our Team

The mission of the Global Strategy, Operations, & Performance (GSOP) Team within Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) is to be essential to merchants and partners globally by delivering an easy, frictionless, value-added experience that enables them to meet their goals and support merchants globally and transform what it means to be an AMEX Merchant. GSOP consists of a diverse set of teams that support the GMNS business.

Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) Analytics team within GSOP is responsible for partnering with global markets to drive profitable growth, accelerate acceptance and amplify the value of Amex acceptance to Merchants, bank partners and Card Members at scale. We offer powerful data and actionable insights to attract new businesses to engage with Amex, help existing businesses improve performance and capitalize on new opportunities.

Description:

Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) Analytics team is seeking a manager to lead the Network Product Analytics team. The team will own analytics for network payment capabilities. The leader will collaborate with stakeholders across Network and Acquirer solutions team and GSOP team to measure product value proposition and drive analytics that assesses opportunities for greater product adoption. This role will also focus on driving strategic thinking behind POS experiences, digital product analytics and product journey refinement.

Responsibilities:

Set up and lead a team 2 to 3 analytics colleagues.
Innovate and evolve focus of the team with a view on Network business priorities and external trends
Define key metrics and develop automated reporting and alerts to monitor product health
Identify opportunities to drive scale through automation of insights & reporting.

Leadership Skills Desired

Put enterprise thinking first, connect the role’s agenda to enterprise priorities and stay current in their field and up to date with latest business trends, data science, business statistics and algorithms.
Lead with an external perspective, challenge status quo and bring continuous innovation to our existing offerings.
Demonstrate learning agility, make decisions quickly and with the highest level of integrity.
Monitor and improve through continuous evaluation of systems, tools, accesses and processes, ensuring appropriate controls are in place to mitigate risk

Past Experience:

4+ years of experience in analytics functions with a strong business acumen.
Ability to engage and inspire a team, while developing his/her people.
Experience in collaboration across stakeholders and influence at all levels.
Strong story-telling skills; ability to translate quantitative results into action-oriented recommendations.
Exposure to digital analytics tools (e.g. Adobe Analytics, Google
Analytics) is a plus
Knowledge of merchant or network business is a plus.

Academic Background

Bachelor's/ Masters in Statistics/Mathematics/Economics/ Engineering with relevant experience
