Job Description

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Developer with over 10 years of IT experience and proven expertise in Mainframe-to-AWS migration projects. The candidate must have hands-on experience with AWS Blu Age for application modernization and strong skills in DB2-to-Aurora PostgreSQL data migration. This role involves designing, developing, and executing modernization solutions while providing technical leadership within the migration team.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of migration solutions using AWS Blu Age for mainframe replatforming and re-engineering.
Drive end-to-end data migration from DB2 to Aurora PostgreSQL, including schema conversion, ETL pipelines, validation, and performance optimization.
Collaborate with architects, cloud engineers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable migration solutions.
Conduct migration assessments, proof-of-concepts, and technical workshops to validate approaches.
Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to ensure high-quality delivery.
Troubleshoot migration challenges, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Ensure adherence to best practices, security standards, and performance benchmarks.
Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer sessions.

Required Skills & Qualifications
9+ years of overall IT experience, with at least 5+ years in mainframe migration/modernization projects.
Hands-on expertise in AWS Blu Age (AWS Blu Age certification strongly preferred).
Proven experience in DB2 to Aurora PostgreSQL migrations, including schema design, data migration, and performance tuning.
Strong knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, RDS, Aurora, Lambda, S3, and DMS.
Proficiency in SQL, database optimization, and large-scale data transformation.
Solid experience in application modernization methodologies and legacy system re-engineering.
Strong problem-solving skills with ability to handle complex migration issues.
Excellent communication skills with experience in working with global, cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills
AWS Solutions Architect or Database Specialty Certification.
Familiarity with AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT), AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), or other modernization frameworks.
Knowledge of Agile/DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Previous experience in large-scale, enterprise-level cloud migration projects.
