This position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in litigation, capable of handling diverse legal matters efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of Indian legal procedures, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a team. This role demands a proactive approach to litigation management, ensuring compliance with legal standards and minimizing legal risks. A critical component of this role is the ability to communicate effectively in Kannada, as the position will involve interactions with local authorities and stakeholders.</p> <p><strong>Roles and Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Litigation Management:</strong></li> <ul> <li>Manage and oversee all stages of litigation, from pre-litigation to post-judgment, including drafting pleadings, conducting legal research, and preparing for hearings.</li> <li>Develop and implement litigation strategies to achieve favorable outcomes.</li> <li>Monitor and track litigation progress, ensuring timely responses and adherence to deadlines.</li> <li>Coordinate with external counsel, providing necessary information and guidance.</li> <li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all litigation matters.</li> </ul> </ul> <ul> <li><strong>Legal Research and Analysis:</strong></li> <ul> <li>Conduct in-depth legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and precedents.</li> <li>Analyze legal documents and provide clear and concise legal opinions.</li> <li>Stay abreast of changes in legislation and case law that may impact the company's legal position.</li> </ul> <li><strong>Documentation and Reporting:</strong></li> <ul> <li>Prepare and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and notices.</li> <li>Generate regular reports on litigation status and outcomes.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.</li> </ul> <li><strong>Stakeholder Communication:</strong></li> <ul> <li>Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, external counsel, and regulatory authorities.</li> <li>Represent the company in legal proceedings and negotiations.</li> <li>Communicate with local authorities and stakeholders in Kannada.</li> </ul> </ul> <p><strong>Mandatory Skills and Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Mandatory Skills:</strong></li> <ul> <li>Proven experience in litigation management, preferably in a corporate setting.</li> <li>In-depth knowledge of Indian civil and criminal procedural laws.</li> <li>Excellent drafting and legal research skills.</li> <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.</li> <li>Effective communication and negotiation skills.</li> <li>Ability to work independently 1 and as part of a team.  </li> <li><strong>Proficiency in Kannada (reading, writing, and speaking) is essential.</strong></li> <li><strong>Comfortable with extensive travel, as the role requires visiting multiple states to appear before courts, police, and regulatory authorities.
