How will you make an impact in this role?

Card & Merchant Accounting and Control (CMAC) team manages the accounting for $1.2 Tn of Card spend, Remittances and Merchant payments along with accounting for Incentives COE amounting to $2B. which includes accounting for Corporate Client Incentives, GNS Royalties, Merchant Rebates etc. and provide governance and oversight to unclaimed funds (Abandoned Property).

The specific role is part of Abandoned Property COE and is responsible for leading Regulatory reporting, Compliance and governance of Abandoned Property Funds.

The key responsibilities will include 

  • Ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting 
  • Manage accounting, ensuring adherence and compliance to Policy
  • The incumbent will be responsible to assess for any upstream/downstream impacts integrated within the process through engagement with business partners (Global Servicing teams, Global Supply Management, Controllership and Technology etc)
  • Ensure that the health of the ABP accounts is maintained
  • This position will work in close collaboration with Legal and GCO groups to ensure regulatory and policy compliance is maintained
  • Establish, maintain & improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the processes
  • Advance his / her area of functional expertise and ensure that integrity and control is maintained
  • Perform consistent coordination and follow up with process team, Markets (Market Controllers & their teams), Operations & Technologies across various locations globally to ensure that ABP process is sustained and complied with

Qualifications

  • The incumbent should either be a Chartered Accountant or M.B.A with around 6 years of relevant post qualification experience or a B.Com (or equivalent) with minimum 10 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills needed to create, develop, train, motivate and communicate with a diversified work force and promote diversity in all respects. Must have strong, proven people management skills. handling Cross functional, cross cultural teams, project management and co-ordination abilities
  • Should have the ability to think strategically and define what winning looks like
  • Must have strong accounting skills. Understanding of various AMEX finance practices will be an advantage
  • Must have the ability to influence outcomes and build strong relationships
  • Must have strong analytical skills, maturity, good judgment, positive / independent / structured approach and should be able to lead through innovation with a  focus on continuous improvement
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to interact with senior leadership, multiple employee levels /business partners/customers etc, Should be able to operate in a Global environment
