Vice President of Engineering – Enterprise Business Intelligence

The Enterprise Business Intelligence team is part of the Technology group within Enterprise Services. The Vice President of Engineering will set the vision, strategy, and roadmap for EBI. The EBI remit includes owning and maintaining BI platforms hosting Tableau, MSTR and more. The group is also responsible for building associated data capabilities, including visualization and insights for the enterprise and its partners.

The successful candidate will lead a set of highly talented, transformational, and dynamic engineering leaders and their teams in the architecture, design, and engineering of business capabilities. Will play a critical role in the evolution of our Next Generation Big Data Platform and associated BI capabilities. Will partner and collaborate with engineering and product leadership to deliver a superior colleague & customer experience.

How will you make an impact in this role?

Be a leader of leaders.

Responsible to provide direction for delivery of software solutions, design and implementation of data driven solutions to provide best in-class application development with cutting edge technologies.
Deliver a technology platform that hosts enterprise BI tools like MicroStrategy, Tableau, PowerBI or other.
Lead a team of engineers that can deliver enterprise-wide capabilities with web engineering stack React/Redux, Java, Spring, SQL hosted on cloud platform.

Responsible to set vision, create strategy and roadmap for enterprise business intelligence.
Deliver insights for enterprise verticals like digital, marketing, acquisitions, quality and more.
Lead multiple agile software product development teams that realize the company’s technology vision and strategy in a scalable, iterative environment.
Attract, retain and grow top engineering talent across the organization, providing guidance, career development and mentorship to team members.
Deliver software that provides superior user experiences, linking customer needs and business drivers together through creative product engineering.
Work with key stakeholders’ partners to drive software solutions that align to strategic roadmaps, prioritized initiatives, and strategic technology directions.
Work with peers, Principal Engineers and Principal Architects to assimilate new technology and delivery methods into scalable software solutions, using and contributing to engineering best practices across the company.
Direct operations, analyze workflow, establish priorities, develop standards and set-up deadlines.
Build an engineering team focused on continuous improvement through technical and leadership development to successfully develop, deploy, support, and monitor software across various environments.
Promote reuse and collaboration across shared services and components by leveraging enterprise frameworks and execute product roadmaps.
Facilitate system integrations, rules and decision engines, and operational management flows.
Ensure product releases are high quality, deliver excellent user experiences, perform seamlessly at scale, and comply with regulatory requirements.
Ensure alignment of strategy, architecture, tools/methods with software engineers and architects, and automated CI/CD pipeline and a production environment that scales to meet anticipated demand.
Monitor and ensure platform stability across multiple production and non-production development environments.
Collaborate across business units to design solutions and prioritize, plan, and execute the development schedule.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels across functions, from both technical and non-technical perspectives alike; able to lead intelligent business and technology conversations with SVP and/or EVP level business leaders

Qualifications

15+ years of large-scale technology delivery and formal management in a complex environment and/or comparable experience.
4+ years of experience in formal leadership role.
Large scale software product engineering experience with contemporary tools and delivery methods in a complex environment (i.e. DevOps, CD/CI, Agile, etc.)
Extensive experience as a leader within a Technology organization and/or in a product development company with experience that compliments the software product portfolio (i.e. Digital Payments, Mobile, Big Data, etc.)
Experience attracting, hiring, retaining, and leading top engineering talent and building high performing teams in a high-reaching market.
Deep understanding of the Product / Technology Platform’s underlying tech stack and its core components
Hands-on expertise in one or more relevant technologies
Strong systems integration architecture skills and a high degree of technical expertise, ranging across several technologies with a proven track record of turning new technologies into business solutions.
